Psalm 4:8
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. (NIV)

What we hope to accomplish at the beginning of our day may not be realized with the coming of the night, despite our greatest efforts.

Not to worry: that which is still to be done can be left in hands of Divine Providence for safe keeping.

There is a reason for every challenge; an answer to every question; a solution to every problem and all are known to Him who never sleeps.

So long as we strive to do our best, in the peace of Jesus we can rest.

Psalm 10:17-18
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more. (NIV)

At the heart of every frightened, anxious, insecure person is a quivering soul without the help of a support system, role model, someone to look up to and believe in.

I was once such a pitiful creature, so busy standing on my own two feet that I failed to fall upon my knees and realize that Jesus had my back covered.

Friends, though we are of this earth, we need not be terrified. Our Lord will encourage us, defend us and support us through all the days of our lives with His amazing grace, so richly given to all the members of His church bound together in Christian Fellowship.

The beauty of God's Church is God's People, sharing God's Gifts of peace, hope and love with all of God's Children. We are not alone, praise Jesus!

1 Peter 1:6-7
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith-- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (NIV)

The only furnace hot enough to completely consume every smoldering temptation, spark of mortal desire, flame of overwhelming grief and fire of worldly persecution is the one wherein our Savior took all the heat, in order that our souls may be refined into what God intended for us to become: His adoring children.

The faith we have in Jesus Christ,
Which we now possess in flesh and bones,
Is the fuel of eternal life:
The light of our immortal souls.

Psalm 18:6
In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. (NIV)

The Lord hears us. He does not give us all we want, but what we need is never missing: His grace, mercy and abundant love.

God is not made of flesh and bone
Or of the earth's most precious gold;
But of a lifeform all His own,
His love and mercy to behold.
And when our murmuring spirits, low,
Plead our heartaches to be heard
To His ears our whispers go
And He ponders every word.
